This Privacy Policy explains how Kangsium ("we", "us") handles information when you use Neon Snake (the "App"). We've tried to write this in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us at jason@kangsium.com.
At a glance
•
No signup, no account — you don't tell us who you are.
•
No name, email, phone, or location is ever collected by the game itself.
•
Your best scores and settings stay on your device in local storage. We never see them.
•
The App shows ads served by Google AdMob, which uses an Advertising ID and some device information to serve ads. You can opt out of personalized ads through the in-app consent prompt (EU/UK) or by resetting / disabling your Advertising ID in your device settings.
What data we handle
Data type | Source (SDK / form / sensor) | Purpose | Shared with | Retention |
Best scores per difficulty | App-local SharedPreferences | Show your personal record on the home screen | Stays on device, not shared | Until you reset scores or uninstall |
Sound / haptics preferences | App-local SharedPreferences | Remember your settings | Stays on device, not shared | Until you reset or uninstall |
Advertising ID (AAID / IDFA) | Google AdMob SDK | Show ads, frequency capping, basic ad measurement | Google and AdMob ad partners | Per Google's ad data retention policies |
Approximate location (derived from IP) | Google AdMob SDK | Region-appropriate ad serving | Google and AdMob ad partners | Per Google's ad data retention policies |
Device & OS information (model, OS version, language, network type) | Google AdMob SDK | Ad serving and fraud prevention | Google and AdMob ad partners | Per Google's ad data retention policies |
Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks) | Google AdMob SDK | Ad serving and measurement | Google and AdMob ad partners | Per Google's ad data retention policies |
Consent choices (EU/UK users) | Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) | Honor your consent for personalized ads | Stored locally by UMP; signaled to Google | Until you clear app data or revoke consent |
Note on "anonymous" identifiers: the Advertising ID is considered personal data under GDPR even though we never see your name or email. We treat it accordingly.
Why we handle it
We use this data only for the purposes listed in the table above:
•
Operating the App's core features (remembering your best scores and settings).
•
Showing advertisements that help keep the App free.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or marketing SDKs in this App.
Who we share data with
Ad-related data is handled by Google LLC through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). Google may share this data with its ad-network partners to fulfill ad requests and prevent fraud. See:
•
Google Ads privacy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
•
AdMob & AdSense data disclosure: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
•

We do not share data with anyone else.
Your data, your control
You can:
•
Delete all your data on this device — in the App: Settings → "Reset best scores", then uninstall the App. Because all in-app data is stored locally, uninstalling removes everything we hold about you on the device. For ad-related data Google has collected, see Google's controls below.
•
Reset / disable your Advertising ID — on Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset / Delete advertising ID. On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track".
•
Withdraw EU/UK ad consent — see "For users in the EU, UK, or Switzerland" below.
•
How long we keep data
•
In-app data (scores, settings): stays on your device until you reset them in Settings or uninstall the App. We have no copy.
•
Ad-related identifiers and events: handled by Google per its retention policies — see https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Where data is stored
In-app data stays on your device. Ad-related data is processed on Google's infrastructure, which operates globally; Google's data-transfer safeguards are documented at https://policies.google.com/privacy
For users in the EU, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK DPA)
Our legal bases for processing:
•
Legitimate interest — operating the App and remembering settings on-device. No personal data leaves your device for this purpose.
•
Consent — personalized advertising via AdMob. The first time you launch the App in the EU/UK, Google's User Messaging Platform shows a consent form where you can accept, reject, or customize personalized advertising. You can change your choice at any time by clearing app data or — when our consent form supports it — re-opening the consent screen through the App.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email jason@kangsium.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
International transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses as published by Google in its documentation linked above.
For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, but personalized advertising via AdMob may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. You can opt out by:
1.
Declining personalized ads in the in-app consent prompt (where applicable), and
2.
Resetting or disabling your Advertising ID in your device settings.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact jason@kangsium.com and we will take steps to remove it.
Security
Ad requests and consent signaling use HTTPS/TLS as provided by Google's SDKs. In-app data is stored only on your device and is protected by the operating system's sandboxing.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced inside the App or on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change.
