This Privacy Policy explains how Kangsium ("we", "us") handles information when you use Neon Bricks (the "App"). We've tried to write this in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us at jason@kangsium.com.
At a glance
•
No account, no signup. We don't ask for your name, email, phone, or any login.
•
Your game data stays on your device. Best scores and sound/haptics preferences are stored locally in your phone's app storage. We do not have a server that holds them.
•
We show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob collects standard advertising identifiers (Advertising ID, IP, approximate location, device info) so it can serve ads and measure performance. This is the only third-party data flow in the App.
•
You can delete everything by uninstalling the App — there is nothing of yours on our side to delete.
What data we handle
Data type | Source (SDK / sensor) | Purpose | Shared with | Retention |
Sound toggle, haptics toggle, best scores per difficulty | Local device storage (shared_preferences) | Operating the App (saving settings + high scores) | No one — stays on your device | Until you uninstall the App or tap "Reset best scores" in Settings |
Advertising ID, IP address, approximate (IP-derived) location, device model, OS version, ad interactions | Google AdMob SDK | Showing banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads; measuring ad performance; preventing fraud | Google and AdMob's advertising partners | Per Google's defaults — see https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
Note on "anonymous" identifiers: advertising IDs are still considered personal data under GDPR even though we never see your name or email. We treat them accordingly and rely on Google's UMP consent flow shown on first launch.
Why we handle it
We use this data only for the purposes listed in the table above:
•
Operating the App's core features (saving your sound/haptics preferences and your best score per difficulty, on your device only)
•
Showing advertisements that help keep the App free
We do not sell your personal information. We don't run our own analytics, we don't track you across other apps or sites, and we don't have user accounts.
Who we share data with
The only third party that receives data from the App is:
•
Google (AdMob) — for ad serving, measurement, and fraud prevention. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob's ads policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
AdMob may share advertising-identifier and contextual data with its own ad partners and demand-side platforms in order to fill ad slots. We don't choose those partners individually; they're managed by Google.
Your data, your control
You can:
•
Delete your local game data — in the App: Settings → Reset best scores. To remove everything else (preferences too), uninstall the App from your device.
•
Withdraw or change ad consent — on first launch the App shows Google's UMP consent dialog. To change your choice later, clear the App's data from your device's app settings; the consent dialog will show again on next launch.
•
Reset your Advertising ID — in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time.
•
Request information about what data we hold — email jason@kangsium.com. (In practice, we don't hold any account-level data about you ourselves — the AdMob data flows to Google.)
How long we keep data
•
Local game data on your device: until you reset best scores in Settings, clear app data in Android Settings, or uninstall the App.
•
AdMob-related identifiers: per Google's defaults — see https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
We do not operate any backend servers that store data about you.
Where data is stored
•
Local game data — only on your device.
•
AdMob data — processed and stored on Google's servers in the regions Google operates (primarily the United States and the European Union).
For users in the EU, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK DPA)
Our legal bases for processing:
•
Contract / legitimate interest — operating the App's core features (which all run locally on your device).
•
Consent — personalized advertising and the AdMob measurement that depends on it. The in-app Google UMP consent prompt collects this consent on first launch; you can withdraw it as described above.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port your data, and to object. Contact jason@kangsium.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
International transfers of AdMob data rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses as published by Google.
For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, but personalized advertising via AdMob may qualify as "sharing" under the CPRA. Opt out by declining the in-app consent prompt on first launch, and/or by resetting / disabling your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is rated for general audiences (13+) in the store listing and is not enrolled in the Google Play Families program. Contact jason@kangsium.com if you believe a child has provided personal information through the App and we will take appropriate action.
Security
Network traffic (the AdMob ad requests) is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Local game data is stored using the operating system's standard app-private storage, which is sandboxed from other apps on your device.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced in the App's Settings → Privacy policy screen. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect the change.
